It had been months since I've gotten to hang out with my Boston friends +Michael Seneschal , +Gregory Russo , +Seth Morabito , +John Correa , +Chris Sullivan , +Hunter Bahr , +Fred Ziegler (he got abducted by witches).....hell, I even met a few new people +Mae Hogan (thanks for getting this together) and +Anthony Tulliani and brought my good friend +Ryan Silva along to meet everyone.

The light was bright and harsh, but it was fantastic to finally have some great weather here in New England.  we all had a great time walking around, shooting the shit, snapping a few photos then stopping for beer and food. (I think some continued on after that even)

I really didn't take many photos, but I did have a great time!

Look forward to another meetup soon, and possibly getting one together in New Bedford, MA

borrowed from ustwo.co.uk

I have a major love for smartphones, in particular Android smartphones (but I'm very much into all sorts of gadgets and will give anything a chance) and I often look and try random applications that show up in the market.

The other day Rando (by ustwo) popped up, and I opened up to find it was an anonymous photo sharing application, you send an image to a random person, you receive a random image back. Awesome! I think this is a great idea and think it could lead to creativity (especially since the image is a circle crop).

I decided to go for a quick walk and fire off a bunch of images, nothing too special just some outdoors stuff on or around a bike path.

Taking a picture screen

A little while after I took a whole bunch of photos, they started getting delivered to all sorts of random places, and then I began receiving images, also from a wide variety of locations. Though some seem to have no location attached to the message.

Notifications sometimes show locations

Now I imagined the pictures I would receive would be a little lack luster, and that is OK, mine were also not the best quality, but what I actually received was rather disappointing. Let me share with you now the collection of shots I received.

So two legs, one cat, one dog, some dirty laundry, piggy bank, shoe logo, computer screen, CD artwork... etc..etc. Wow! Can't say I'm completely shocked but I can say I was disappointed.  I was really hoping some creativity would show up in at least one photo to give me a glimmer of hope that this app was even remotely worth my time because I really like the concept.

Unfortunately, it is not. I made one more attempt and received a picture of a pillow that had a Sailor Moon print on it. Ugh, frustrating. This application would be extremely awesome had they allowed people to join a group interest so that you can kinda give and get similar themes. Even better, if my Google + circles could privately send within a circle, I could only imagine I'd be wanting to take photos using this program all day. Unfortunately, at the moment it is just far too unrewarding for me personally.

If you'd like to try out the app, it is available on both Android and iOS

2013 has been crazy so far, and not in a great way. I got some great shooting space in a warehouse in New Bedford, MA and Dixie Danger was the first that let me shoot them in it! Was fun and a good learning experience, most of the areas have no power, so dealing with pitch dark rooms can be a pain. Looking forward to getting to shoot Dixie and in the warehouse again soon.

Few bonus photos of how cool this location is!

Image borrowed from Dove

One of the major topics talked about today is the false image that magazines, catalog and television advertisements push out to women and men. The images depict women and men that are next to perfect in every possible way, showing this as a reality that isn't actually real. Dove has been on a campaign to show real beauty instead of showing images of women who have been touched up by digital methods to look "perfect".  Well Dove is trying something a little different this time via their agency in Toronto that came up with something a little extra special.

You'll see in the video they disguised a Photoshop action as something it actually isn't, what it does is reverts the image back to it's original file instead of the likely over processed image the person was working on. My views on this? I think it is fantastic, aside from blemish touch ups and maybe some teeth whitening I'm really against trying to change the actual person, because it is fake.

Watch the video, leave a comment on what you think!

When I had the opportunity to go to this fashion event I took it right away, I've seen some fellow photographer's work that had featured these designers and I knew the event would be great. It was not only a great learning experience, but a fun time shooting in the fast paced chaos that was happening while trying to get some good shots.

Anyways, the photos speak for themselves, check it out.

Oh did I mention there were two burlesque acts in between the designer's shows?

I think its safe to say fun was had by everyone
