Image borrowed from Dove |
One of the major topics talked about today is the false image that magazines, catalog and television advertisements push out to women and men. The images depict women and men that are next to perfect in every possible way, showing this as a reality that isn't actually real. Dove has been on a campaign to show real beauty instead of showing images of women who have been touched up by digital methods to look "perfect". Well Dove is trying something a little different this time via their agency in Toronto that came up with something a little extra special.
You'll see in the video they disguised a Photoshop action as something it actually isn't, what it does is reverts the image back to it's original file instead of the likely over processed image the person was working on. My views on this? I think it is fantastic, aside from blemish touch ups and maybe some teeth whitening I'm really against trying to change the actual person, because it is fake.
